Preparation
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a loaf pan or line a tray with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, eggs, milk, onion, garlic, half of the BBQ sauce, salt, and pepper just until combined.
Baking
- Shape the mixture into a loaf in the prepared pan or free-form on the tray.
- Bake for 30 minutes.
Glazing
- Remove from the oven, brush with remaining BBQ sauce, and sprinkle with cheddar cheese.
- Bake for another 15–20 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
- Let rest 5–10 minutes, garnish with parsley, then slice and serve.
Notes
Ensure not to overmix the ingredients; this keeps the meatloaf tender. You can customize the flavor by using different types of cheese or BBQ sauce. For added moisture, add finely chopped bell peppers or grated carrots to the meat mixture.
