Ingredients

Meatloaf Ingredients
  • 1 pound Ground Sirloin Can substitute with ground beef, turkey, or chicken.
  • 1 cup Bread Crumbs Use gluten-free if necessary.
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce Use soy sauce for a lower-sodium option.
  • 1 large Egg Can be replaced with a flax egg or chia seed egg.
  • 1 teaspoon Salt Adjust according to taste.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper Substitute with white pepper if preferred.
  • 2 teaspoons Onion Flakes Alternatively, use fresh diced onions.
  • 1 tablespoon Montreal Steak Seasoning Any all-purpose seasoning can be used.
Gravy Ingredients
  • 2 cups Beef Broth Homemade adds more flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons Butter Use olive oil for a lighter option.
  • 2 tablespoons Flour Cornstarch can be used for gluten-free gravy.
  • 1 tablespoon Soy Sauce Can be omitted for simpler flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder Use fresh minced garlic for stronger taste.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground sirloin, breadcrumbs, Worcestershire sauce, egg, salt, black pepper, onion flakes, and Montreal steak seasoning. Mix until well combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a greased baking dish or on a lined baking sheet.
Cooking
  1. Bake for about 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C). Let rest briefly before slicing and serving.
Gravy Preparation
  1. While the meatloaf is baking, melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add the flour and stir continuously for about 1 minute to form a roux.
  3. Gradually pour in the beef broth while whisking to prevent lumps.
  4. Add soy sauce and garlic powder. Continue to cook until the gravy thickens, about 5-7 minutes. If it gets too thick, add a little more broth or water.

Notes

Make sure not to overmix the meatloaf for a tender texture. Add grated vegetables like carrots or zucchini to enhance flavor. For a sweeter sauce, add ketchup or brown sugar to the gravy. Store leftovers in airtight containers; lasts for up to 3 days in the fridge.
